Do you chronically say yes when you want to say no? Does the past become present when you don't want it to, leaving you wondering why? Have you ever thought you had “gotten over” something only to find it resurfaces later? Have life experiences continued to affect you, making you feel stuck or unable to heal? With a Master's in Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and 19 years of experience, I help women and men reduce suffering, learn from and heal the past, increase a sense of safety, meaning, and purpose, and develop greater flexibility in thinking. Together, we find what is effective and then do what works. I assist clients in working through trauma, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, and life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first sessions will focus on introductions, answering your questions, providing an overview of the therapeutic process, the basics of therapy (confidentiality, consent for treatment, payment, cancellation policy, etc.), history taking and assessment, and goal setting. Together, we will decide if we are a good fit. If so, then the “work” begins. Healing occurs when we work collaboratively. You are an integral part of the healing process. I will meet you where you are and will encourage additional thoughts, possibilities, and understanding. You are in control and decide what fits and what doesn’t.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
