Getting to know Rick W. Hicks
Usually, my clients seek therapy and counseling after struggling with challenges for days and sometimes months. Over time, these same challenges create maladaptive behavior patterns that must be corrected to facilitate change. However, my clients tend to dig in while inserting a host of new concerns.
Albert Einstein wrote, "We can't solve today's problems with the mentality that created them." With this in mind, it is better to seek professional services and resources-recognizing you're not alone in this healing process.
I understand that therapy cannot solve all things of the past that challenge us, but clients can seek support, understanding, and better days.
I hold a Master's in Counseling from Strayer University, which has equipped me to guide clients through their healing journeys with compassion and expertise.
My passion is to help the world heal through community and humanity. I'm ready to help you define and rewrite your new beginning. This will allow you to sculpt the person you want to be.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Once we address the presenting challenges. We will start defining and developing a path for the journey of your healing process. We will walk and tackle some challenges as they present and/or what we identify as part of the treatment goals.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
