What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process; therefore my role is to assist you in working towards solutions that benefit you in the best way possible. My area of focus is working with adults around stress, anxiety, and depression. My highest priority as a therapist is to cultivate a space for you as a client to feel safe, supported, and unconditionally accepted. I have been doing therapy for 23 years and am very passionate and committed to helping others on their healing journey. I look forward to working with you. My clinical approach is person-centered first and foremost, while incorporating cognitive-behavioral and motivational interviewing methods to focus on your goals and motivations, and target what solutions are most effective and appropriate for you. As a licensed clinical social worker and fellow human, I know the importance of telling your story in a safe space; to feel heard, supported, seen, and to allow the courageous process of healing to take place. To grieve, express anger, fear and to celebrate your strengths and personal growth. I look forward to working with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In my work as a therapist specializing in adults dealing with stress, depression, and life challenges, my typical process involves a comprehensive approach aimed at fostering a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I begin with a thorough initial assessment, delving into the client's history, stressors, and coping mechanisms. Establishing a trusting rapport is crucial, creating a safe space for clients to openly express themselves. Psychoeducation plays a key role, helping clients understand the dynamics of stress, depression, and common life challenges. Together, we set realistic and specific goals, prioritizing and breaking them down into manageable steps. Cognitive-behavioral interventions address negative thought patterns, while mindfulness and relaxation techniques enhance emotional regulation. I also focus on developing problem-solving skills and providing emotional support throughout the process. Regular assessments ensure we track progress and make necessary adjustments, and the therapy concludes with a thoughtful closure process. I emphasize the importance of self-care and wellness promotion and provide resources for ongoing support, fostering a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. Adhering to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and continuous professional development underpin the quality of my therapeutic practice.
