Dr. Waites Funna is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her PhD in Social Work and Master's in Social Work from Howard University, as well as her Bachelor's degree from UNC Chapel Hill. She comes to Community of Hope with over a decade of clinical practice and two decades of experience in mental health services across North Carolina, Maryland, and Washington, DC. She specializes in addressing historical trauma, supporting youth transitioning into adulthood, youth aging out of foster care, assisting individuals in recovery, and empowering women through life transitions. Her approach to therapy is holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centered, emphasizing the unique strengths and capabilities of each individual.
