Getting to know Stephen Pleasant

Hello, my name is Stephen Pleasant, and I'm a psychotherapist for men. Why therapy for men? Well, sometimes a man just needs a pork shoulder to cry on. That being said, I also work with women. It's a recognized human tendency for men to get ?stuck? in their lives and to end up ?settling? for the status quo when deep down they know they are capable of much more. Here's the truth: You are never ?stuck? with your present circumstances. The Game of Life is a psychological and spiritual journey, and winning at this game requires you to change your play, think differently, and do things in a new way. I help men break free from being ?stuck? in life, resigned to producing results that are disappointing to them and others. My goal is to see transformative progress in men's confidence, clarity, and self-expression, so they may gain the fuller personal and work life they once thought was beyond them. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Howard University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support men and women through their journeys of growth and healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I help men close the gap between where they are now and where they want to be in life and relationships. Usually, people try to change things on the outside without first changing what’s going on, on the inside. That never really works. Clients can expect to take away being more effective and courageous in dealing with the inside. And, by extension, produce better results on the outside.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
