Getting to know Tamika Hudson
My core values are faith, family, social and economic justice. My worldview is quite simple and mirrors one of the core competencies of the National Association of Social Workers. I believe that everyone has a right to be in a good place mentally, physically, and spiritually. Because of my life experience as a mother and a professional, I have evolved into a change agent-a natural role for a social worker. The same steps I have taken to secure my life mentally, physically, and emotionally are the very same steps I am willing to assist my patients and clients in taking. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree from Colgate University, which have both shaped my approach to helping others.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Initial appointment is a clinical assessment and evaluating the appropriateness or fit. I feel that clients do better if there is a therapeutic fit. My therapy modality is trauma informed care. I am EMDR trained, working towards certification
