About Dr. Asha Vali
Dr. Vali is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She completed her US residency training at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to coming to the US, she also worked in England and India. During her formative years, she worked with mentors with expertise in Geriatrics, Ob-Gyn, Internal Medicine, and Dermatology. Working with these mentors has allowed her to absorb a vast amount of knowledge and experience and gives her a broad clinical base from which to help her patients.
After completing her residency at Duke, Dr. Vali partnered with a Family Physician in Cary, NC for a year. She, her husband, and her young daughter then moved to Maryland where she started her practice first in Silver Spring in 1999 and then in Clarksville in 2007. She now divides her time between these practices. She has admitting privileges at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring and Howard County General Hospital in Columbia. She has formed close working relationships with a number of specialists at these hospitals and outside.
Dr. Vali firmly believes in treating patients with dignity and compassion. Healing involves more than prescribing medications; it encompasses physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of health. It requires a cooperative relationship between the physician and the patient. There is a focus on education and personal responsibility to achieve balance and well-being.

Dr. Vali seemed perfectly fine when I finally got in to see her, but waiting over one hour (with no water and terrible magazines) is totally unacceptable. She said something about an 'end of the year rush' but I doubt I will be coming back.

- I had to wait for 1 and a half hour before seeing the Dr
- The Dr was not welcoming and caring at all
- They did not tell me I have to come fasting for the blood test which wasted my time!
- Although the Dr had not done the proper protocols for annual physical !! she did not even check my ears or mention women well protocols!
Note: it is not my first time doing annual physical!
overall, it was a very bad experience and I wished I went somewhere else!

It was my first appointment with Dr. Vali so I arrived 15 minutes early to complete paperwork, etc. After I completed all my paperwork it was about my appointment time and I was taken back to see the doctor within 15 minutes.
Dr. Vali was very nice and processional, she took her time in talking to me and really made me feel at ease, which is fabulous because the doctors office makes me super nervous.
Would definitely recommend Dr. Vali and will be sticking with her as my primary care doctor.

The wait time was very long, but not unreasonable for flu season. It's clear that Dr. Vali takes her time with each patient and asked which medications had worked well for me in the past. Prescriptions were sent electronically to the pharmacy of my choice with no problem. Front desk staff was friendly. All in all, well worth the wait. I'll be switching to her as my primary care physician.

I would like to note that the wait time may be an inaccurate reflection of a normal appointment as this particular appointment was my 1st and was asked to fill out their version of paper-copy patient information forms. In fact, Dr. Vali was ready for me 15 minutes after checking in.
Dr. Vali's most positive asset is her genuine ability in listening to the patient. This was rather surprising because I noticed Dr. Vali simultaneously utilizing a laptop on the side, presumably for recording purposes. Dr. Vali's questions were refreshingly intuitive and was very direct in moving forwards with a sustainable plan for the near and far future.

I love Dr. Valli but one request, please be sure that your automatic appt reminder system doesn't go beserk.. Yesterday it kept calling me over & over (like 6 times in less then 2 hrs) That was annoying!!
