About Dr. Ilan Kokotek
Ilan Kokotek, DO, is a board-certified family physician, specializing in preventive medicine. Dr. Kokotek is trained to take care of patients in all walks of life, and he carries a passion for centering lifestyle, community work, and policy as tools to prevent and reverse diseases. He completed medical school at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, in New Jersey, where he learned to take care of each of his patients with a holistic perspective, including the mind, body, and spirit. He went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at St Luke’s University Health Network, in the Lehigh Valley area of PA and NJ; there he had the honor of serving as chief resident. Following his family medicine training, he completed a fellowship in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health – and obtained a Master’s in Public Health – at Johns Hopkins University. He has applied his knowledge and skills in varied settings such as community clinics for underserved populations, local and state health departments, and the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
Dr. Kokotek’s professional interests are in chronic disease prevention and reversal, behavior change, and connecting with his patients to build lasting professional relationships. He is particularly attuned to patients’ unique circumstances, as well as the overarching social, political, commercial, occupational, and environmental contexts which affect all our lives and our health.
In his spare time, Dr Kokotek enjoys swimming, playing volleyball, doing calisthenics, bike-riding, singing, writing, reading, meditating, spending time in nature, being in community, and trying new recipes.
