Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Amanda! My work is grounded in deep respect for autonomy, and I believe strongly in every human being’s capacity to grow, heal, and change. My approach My approach is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based and insight-oriented modalities to meet the unique needs of each person and situation. Grounded in attachment theory, I pay close attention to relational patterns and early experiences that shape how we connect with ourselves and others. My focus With over 16 years of experience working alongside individuals and families, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the strength, resilience, and adaptability that lives within each person. My communication style My role is to walk with you, not ahead of you, as we explore the patterns, symptoms, and life experiences that may be shaping your present. What are you carrying that no longer serves you? It would be my privilege to walk alongside you in your journey towards a thriving life and out of survival mode! My journey to mental healthcare I began my career in social work as a Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Initiative Coordinator with the Boys & Girls Club, supporting at-risk youth. From there, I completed a three-year paid internship with Children and Family Services, gaining experience in CPS, foster care, adoption, and preventive services. For eight years, I facilitated groups and provided individual counseling to incarcerated individuals, deepening my trauma-informed approach and learning to hold space for complex emotional experiences. I also worked with mobile crisis services, supporting individuals and families in acute psychological distress. Over the past four years, I’ve focused specifically on providing psychotherapy. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and parts work, shaped by years of walking with people through pain, resilience, and healing across systems and life stages.
