Getting to know Ashley Wiscovitch

Life transitions may be uncertain, but with the right support, they can also become catalysts for personal growth, self-discovery, and deeper connection with your authentic self. I help individuals like you embrace change with resilience, clarity, and a sense of purpose so that you can seize the opportunity to embark on a path towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I’m a therapist who wants to help people live a meaningful and value-driven life. Working under the supervision of two licensed psychologists, I specialize in providing psychotherapy for adults working through life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues and psychedelic integration. Prior to getting into private practice work, I provided counseling services at the NYU Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing, which aims to provide comprehensive and culturally-sensitive mental health care to underserved communities. I started my career in neuroscience, conducting research on motivation and schizophrenia at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York Psychiatric Institute. Since then, I’ve had a range of experience, from I/O psychology to behavioral intervention for adolescents, young adults and their families. In addition to my work and educational experience, I’ve also participated in trainings for ACT and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and received certifications in relationship coaching and in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. If you are seeking a therapist who can guide you through life's challenges, empower you to align with your values, and help you cultivate a more meaningful and value-driven life, Together, we can embark on a transformative journey towards greater well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take an integrative and tailored approach to therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices, such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with humanistic and relational frameworks by focusing on meaning-making, acceptance, and the holistic view of each individual. I work to help my clients change their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, identify their values, and take committed action (after we answer the “why?” I want us to answer the “so what?”). Through a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship, I aim to create an environment in which my clients can develop a true, authentic self and that serves as a safe base to return to when they try out their true self in the real world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During therapy we will work on fostering authentic connection so we can dive deeper into your life challenges, celebrate your progress, and facilitate meaningful change. We will work collaboratively to identify clear therapeutic goals to provide a roadmap for personal growth. We will explore alternative perspectives and challenge self limiting patterns to open the door to new possibilities and empower you to make positive changes. We will also explore acceptance and work towards embracing your strengths and vulnerabilities so you can build resilience and develop a more authentic and fulfilling life.
