Getting to know Gabriella Giordano

I am so glad you are here! I believe therapy works best when there is a strong, trusting relationship between client and therapist. I earned both my Master of Social Work and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University, where I developed a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges with curiosity and compassion.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a psychotherapist, I take a strengths-based and relational approach, meeting you where you are and tailoring our work together to what feels most helpful for you. I have experience working with children, adults, and families, supporting people through trauma, anxiety, OCD, relationship and family issues, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. My work is trauma-informed, and I often integrate elements of Motivational Interviewing, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you gain insight and create meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I approach therapy with cultural humility and the belief that we are always learning and growing. This helps me show up with authenticity, and to view our work together as a collaboration built on trust and respect.
