Getting to know Wenhui Xue

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives, and is further informed by feminist theory, intersectionality, and queer theory. I focus on helping clients explore how past experiences shape present patterns, while also examining how culture and identity influence the ways we move through the world.
I strive to meet you with openness, curiosity, and care—listening closely to your needs, desires, and lived experience. I believe we all possess inner strengths that can support healing and growth, and our work together can center on accessing and building upon those strengths.
As a queer person, I am committed to creating an affirming space where you can feel safe being fully yourself. Whether you are exploring questions of gender, sexuality, belonging, or seeking a deeper connection to who you are, I aim to support you in showing up as your whole, authentic self.
I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Tsinghua University and completed my Ed.M. and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. I also have experience working with a nonprofit organization supporting queer communities in China. Sessions can be held in both English and Mandarin.

Initial session: $200 for 50 minutes
Ongoing session: $150-200 for 50 minutes
